The founder and President of Tipp City Drywall Inc., Gary
Hawk, has been working in the drywall industry for over 40
years. He accompanied his father from job to job until he
learned every aspect of the trade. During 1979 and 1980, Gary
worked in Knoxville, TN in preparation for the 1982 World's
Fair. In 1986 he was a job superintendent for the Acmat
Corporation where he supervised over 100 employees during
the construction of the Wright Patterson Air Force Base
Hospital.
After 19 years of working in the drywall industry, Gary had
obtained the knowledge, experience, reputation, and desire to
start his own drywall company. The first company, Hawk Bros.
Drywall, was founded in the late 1980s along with his two
brothers. In 1990 the owners of Hawk Bros. Drywall decided to
separate and start their own companies. Roger Hawk started
what is now known as Hawk Construction and Mike Hawk later
started Mike Hawk Custom Homes. In August of 1990, Gary
started and incorporated Tipp City Drywall.
Along with operating Tipp City Drywall, from 1994 through
1996, Gary built 6 homes in the Christiansburg area. Gary has
also been a member of the Ohio SW District Carpenter's
Union Local #104 since 1978.
Gary is also involved in other organizations. He has been a
Master Mason since 1983, completed the York Rite and
Scottish Rite in 1984, and became a Shriner in 1986.
Gary's hard work and dedication to quality have been the
backbone of Tipp City Drywall. These qualities have been
passed on to his family and long time employees.
